This 2025 Citroën Relay XLWB arrived at our Norfolk workshop as a blank canvas, with the client’s vision to create the ultimate adventure-ready vehicle. The brief was for a versatile 3-berth layout that felt like a true home on wheels, capable of handling everything from spontaneous long weekends to extended off-grid road trips. The core requirements were comfort, self-sufficiency, and the ability to travel in style, without ever needing to rely on a campsite.
Our solution was a high-specification build centred around a powerful, custom-designed electrical system. We installed a massive 615W solar array paired with a 600Ah lithium battery bank and a 3000W inverter, providing more than enough power to run the induction hob, microwave, and onboard Wi-Fi router for days at a time. The interior layout was crafted for comfort and practicality, featuring a permanent fixed double bed, a versatile single bench bed, and the all-season convenience of a diesel-powered hot water and heating system.
The result is a truly capable off-grid explorer that makes no compromises on comfort. The full indoor shower and Thetford toilet provide complete self-sufficiency, while the well-appointed kitchen makes cooking on the road a pleasure. Finished with premium touches like a Fiamma awning and a Thule electric step, this Citroën Relay is the perfect example of our commitment to handcrafting beautiful, reliable, and adventure-ready homes on wheels.
