Meet “Yeti,” a 2017 Fiat Ducato XLWB that arrived at our Norfolk workshop with a clear and exciting mission: to become the ultimate off-grid tourer for a family with a passion for exploration. The brief was to create a spacious, comfortable, and self-sufficient home on wheels, capable of supporting extended adventures across the UK and Europe. It needed to be a practical and reliable base for making memories, with plenty of storage and all the comforts of home, no matter how far off the beaten track they travelled.
The long wheelbase of the Fiat Ducato provided the perfect canvas for a family-focused layout. We designed a versatile 4-berth interior featuring two full double beds, ensuring comfortable sleeping arrangements for everyone. A key feature of this build is the twin sliding doors, which create a wonderfully open and airy living space, blurring the lines between the cosy interior and the great outdoors. The full kitchen was equipped with a gas hob, a large fridge-freezer, a microwave, and even a coffee maker, providing all the amenities needed for family meals on the road.

True off-grid freedom was central to this project. We installed a large 160L fresh water tank and a full interior shower and toilet, giving the family complete independence from campsites. For year-round comfort, a powerful diesel night heater was fitted, making chilly evenings a cosy affair. Every detail was considered for convenience and ease of use, from the numerous USB charging sockets to the practical additions of a Fiamma awning and a Thule electric step, which make setting up camp effortless.
The result is Yeti, a handcrafted campervan that perfectly balances rugged capability with family comfort. It stands as a testament to our collaborative process, turning a client’s dream of adventure into a tangible, reliable, and inspiring home on wheels, ready for a lifetime of exploration.
