FAQs

We know that dreaming up your perfect campervan brings up a lot of questions. We’ve gathered the most common ones here to help you on your journey and turn your vision into a reality.
How long does a full conversion take?
A full, bespoke conversion is a labour of love, and we don’t rush perfection. While the exact timeline depends on the complexity of the build and the specific features you choose, a typical full conversion takes approximately 8 to 14 weeks from the day we start work in the workshop. Part-conversions or individual installations, like fitting a window or a solar panel, are much quicker.

Because we give every project our full attention, we work on a limited number of builds at any one time. We recommend getting in touch early to discuss your plans and secure a build slot in our schedule.

Do I need to supply my own van, or can you help me find one?
We’re flexible and can work with you in whichever way you prefer. Many of our clients bring their own van to us for conversion, and we’re always excited to get to work on a new canvas.

However, if you haven’t found the right base vehicle yet, we are more than happy to help. Finding the perfect van—with the right age, mileage, and condition—is a critical first step. We can offer our expertise and guidance to help you source a suitable vehicle, ensuring your conversion is built on the best possible foundation.

Can I visit the workshop to see a build in progress?
Absolutely! We’d love to welcome you to our workshop in Norfolk. We are proud of our craftsmanship and believe that seeing the care and attention to detail that goes into a build is a key part of the journey. A workshop visit is a great way for you to meet us, see our work firsthand, and feel truly involved in the creation of your van. Just give us a call to arrange a convenient time.
What happens on handover day?

Handover day is a celebration—it’s the moment your van life dream becomes a reality. We dedicate this time entirely to you. We’ll start with a full tour of the exterior and interior of your completed van. Then, we’ll provide a detailed, hands-on demonstration of every system and appliance. We’ll cover:

  • The main control panel for your electrical system.
  • Operating the heating and hot water.
  • Using the kitchen appliances, including the gas supply.
  • How to fill the fresh water tank and empty the waste water.
  • Making up the bed and operating the swivel seats.
  • Safely raising and lowering the pop-top roof (if fitted).

We’ll run through the final paperwork and ensure all your manuals and certificates are in order. Our goal is for you to drive away not just with a beautiful campervan, but with the complete confidence to use every part of it on your very first trip.

How much does a bespoke campervan conversion cost?

Because every build we create is unique and tailored to individual needs and tastes, the final cost can vary significantly. However, to give you a clear idea, our full, bespoke off-grid conversions typically start from around £25,000, in addition to the cost of the base vehicle.

The final investment depends on several key factors, including:

  • The size of the van: Larger vans require more materials and time.
  • Pop-top roof: A high-quality pop-top roof is a significant but valuable addition.
  • Specification level: The complexity of the off-grid electrical system (battery capacity, solar power, inverter size), heating options, and choice of appliances and finishes all influence the final price.

During our initial consultation, we will discuss your budget and requirements in detail to provide you with a comprehensive, itemised quote.

What are your payment terms? Do you require a deposit?

To keep the process clear and stress-free, we use a simple two-stage payment structure.

  • 50% deposit – once we’ve agreed on the design and build date, this secures your slot and allows us to start work on your dream camper.
  • 50% balance – payable on completion, only after you’ve had a full handover and are completely happy with the result.

This way, you stay in control and only make the final payment once your campervan is ready to hit the road.

Do you offer set packages or are all builds fully bespoke?
Our passion lies in creating truly bespoke conversions, so every project begins with a blank canvas and a conversation about you. We don’t offer rigid, “off-the-shelf” packages because we believe your van should be a unique reflection of your lifestyle.

That said, over the years we have developed layout concepts and feature combinations that are particularly popular and work exceptionally well, especially for families or for creating a mobile workspace. We are always happy to share these as a starting point for inspiration, but the final design will always be tailored to your specific vision.

Do professionally converted campervans hold their value?
Yes, they hold their value exceptionally well. A high-quality, professional conversion from a reputable builder is considered a significant asset and is highly sought after in the secondhand market. Unlike a standard vehicle, a well-maintained campervan often depreciates much more slowly.

Features like a certified pop-top roof, a well-designed kitchen, and a robust off-grid electrical system can add up to £15,000 to the base vehicle’s value. Our commitment to expert craftsmanship and using premium components not only ensures you have a reliable van for your adventures but also helps protect your investment for years to come.

Can I customise the layout to my specific needs?
Yes, absolutely—that’s at the very heart of what we do. The entire design process is built around you. We start by learning how you plan to travel, what your hobbies are, and what’s most important for your comfort on the road.

Whether you need a dedicated, ergonomic desk space for remote working, a secure and cosy area for a solo traveller, clever storage for climbing gear and wetsuits, or a safe and durable layout for family adventures, we design and build the interior to match. Your van should be your sanctuary, and we craft it to be a perfect fit for your life.

Can I make changes to the design once the build has started?
We view the build as a collaborative process and always aim to be as flexible as possible. We dedicate a significant amount of time during the initial planning phase to ensure the core layout is exactly what you want before we start cutting any panels.

Once the build is underway, making major changes to the fundamental layout (like moving the kitchen or bed) can become difficult and costly, as it often affects insulation, wiring, and plumbing that is already in place. However, smaller adjustments to details like shelving, lighting placement, or finishes can often be accommodated. We maintain open communication throughout the build, so if you do have a new idea, we encourage you to talk to us as soon as possible.
